Beginnings

Three years ago I was counting down the days 'til I would be leaving for Africa! Many of my friends on Facebook took great interest in the trip and asked that after returning I report all that I had experienced. So, I started the blog and never wrote a word. Great reporter!

I came back to this blog on a few occasions, stared at the blank space in the box and each time hesitantly hovered the pointer over the red 'X' in the upper right corner and closed the page. The words just weren't there. The only thing I was solid with was the title. It seemed to rightly describe my journey through life, but greater than that, it describes where I believe real living takes place.

I'm going to venture to say that the reason I didn't write earlier is because I thought at the time that this blog was entirely because of my trip to Africa and about that trip. And that's all it would have covered. But it isn't. It's not even about me! But, I get to tell the stories, some from first-hand experience, and probably more from those around me who's voices need to be heard.

It is my hope that this site will be a place for you to catch a glimpse of what is going on beyond the walls of your everyday life by reading about what is going on
